**Mephisto Walz Bio** Mephisto Walz is a deathrock band formed in 1986 by Barry Galvin (aka Bari-Bari) and John Schuman (Johann) after their departure from the influential band Christian Death. Bari-Bari, who had joined Christian Death as a bassist during Rozz Williams' tenure, contributed to the band's 1986 album "Atrocities" and several EPs, showcasing his songwriting talents on tracks like "Tales of Innocence," "Strapping Me Down," and "Silent Thunder." The first incarnation of Mephisto Walz began in Düsseldorf, Germany, with Bari-Bari, Johann, and drummer Arndt, along with a German vocalist named Jörge. The name Mephisto Walz was suggested by Johann. They released their debut album on the Italian label Supporti Fonografici in 1986 and relocated to Los Angeles the following year. In 1988, Bari-Bari collaborated with Steven Grey in Hollywood, leading to a new lineup that included David Hermon (bass), Mondo (vocals), and Nariki Shimooka (guitar). This period saw the recording of what would become "Mephisto Walz Rarities 1989." By 1991, Christianna joined as vocalist, and William Faith was added on bass. The band started an association with Gymnastic Records, contributing to the compilation "American Gothic" and releasing "Crocosmia"
