Metal Urbain was a short-lived but influential French punk band from Paris, active primarily in the late seventies. They were one of the first bands to combine drum machines with electric guitars and synthesizers, marking a significant development in the punk genre. Notably, they were the first act to release a record on the Rough Trade label and one of the few French bands to record with John Peel. The band's lineup evolved over the years. From June 1976 to May 1977, the members included Clode Panik on vocals, Eric Débris on synthesizer, Zip Zinc on synthesizer, and Rikky Darling on guitar. From May 1977 to December 1978, the lineup featured Clode Panik (vocals), Eric Débris (synthesizer), Hermann Schwartz (guitar), and Pat Lüger (guitar). In the period from December 1978 to July 1979, Eric Débris took on vocals and synthesizer, with Hermann Schwartz and Pat Lüger on guitar. From July 1979 to February 1980, the lineup consisted of Eric Débris (vocals), Charlie H. (synthesizer), Hermann Schwartz (guitar), and Pat Lüger (guitar).
