Metal y Ca was founded in 1981 by Curro Rodríguez, known as "El Humano Mecano," along with Fernando Cabello and Fernando Cañada. The group released their first record, "Datos," in the spring of 1982 and later added two female vocalists, Ana Villacorta and Ana Valenzuela, for chorus. After releasing three more 7" vinyl records, Metal y Ca disbanded in 1984.
