Metronomy is a British electronic/alternative band that originated in the late 1990s in the small, bohemian market town of Totnes, Devon, UK. The project was initiated when the band's founder's father gifted him a computer, allowing him to create electronic music in his bedroom. Inspired by artists such as Autechre, LFO, and Aphex Twin, the endeavor began as a creative hobby rather than a pursuit of pop stardom.
