MF Doom, born Daniel Dumile Thompson on July 13, 1971, in London, England, was a hip hop recording artist renowned for his "super villain" stage persona and distinctive lyrics. He was the son of a Trinidadian mother and a Zimbabwean father, and his family moved to Long Island, New York when he was a child. Despite living in the United States, Dumile remained a British citizen and never obtained American citizenship. He adopted several stage names throughout his career, with MF DOOM being the most notable. He passed away on October 31, 2020.
