MHz, also known as The Megahertz, is an American hip-hop crew hailing from Columbus, Ohio. The group was formed in 1995 and originally consisted of MCs Copywrite 78 and Camu Tao, along with DJ RJD2. In 1997, Tage Proto joined the lineup before relocating to Atlanta, GA to attend college. During this time, Copywrite and Jakki Da Motamouth were involved in a group called Opium Prodigy, and in 2000, Jakki officially became a member of the Megahertz crew. The group released their first single, "World Premier," in 1998, after it was heard by a key figure in NYC. This led to the release of "Rocket Science" and Jakki's "Widespread" singles. Copywrite's debut album, "Holier Than Thou," came out in 2000, followed by Camu Tao's "Hear Me Talking To You" the next year. In 2001, they released a compilation CD titled "Table Scraps," which featured previously vinyl-only tracks and live recordings from their appearances on WKCR. MHz has toured extensively across America and Europe, sharing the stage with numerous artists throughout their career.
