Michael Gibbs, born on September 25, 1937, in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe), is a versatile trombonist recognized for his contributions as a conductor, composer, arranger, musical director, and occasionally as a keyboardist and drummer. He gained prominence among prog and hard rock fans for his work as an orchestral arranger with Uriah Heep in the mid-1970s.
