Michael James Pollard is a Manchester-based photographer who initially moved to the city to study photography. He became involved in the Post-Punk music scene, playing in several bands and developing friendships with notable groups such as Dislocation Dance and The Fall. Pollard recorded a Peel Session and, through Factory Records’ Lindsay Reade, worked on a demo solo album intended for release on Fundação Atlântica, which ultimately did not happen due to the label's financial issues. In 2020, the original tapes were recovered and restored, leading to the release of a 7" single featuring two of the lost recordings, 30 years after they were made. Currently, he specializes in photographing art and actors.
