Michael Rother is a German experimental musician born on September 2, 1950, in Hamburg. He was a member of the group Spirit of Sound until 1970. He briefly played with Kraftwerk during a time between their first two albums, but he is not featured on any of their official releases. After leaving Kraftwerk, he took with him and formed a new band. Simultaneously, Rother collaborated with Moebius and another member of a different group in a new project. In 1976, he decided to go solo, although he continued to tour with Moebius until 2014.
