Michael Wycoff was a talented soul singer, songwriter, pianist, and arranger born on January 1, 1956, in Torrance, California. He passed away on March 13, 2019, in California due to pancreatic cancer. Based in Los Angeles, Wycoff contributed to Stevie Wonder's seminal album "Songs In The Key Of Life" and participated in various other projects. He signed with a label in 1980 and released three albums between 1981 and 1983, collaborating with notable producers on his debut. His biggest crossover hit was the classic 1982 single "Looking Up To You," which was later sampled in R. Kelly's 1993 smash "Hey Mr. DJ." Wycoff also duetted with various artists and contributed as a guest musician on multiple releases. In 2007, he returned to the studio for a new solo album titled "Return," produced by a notable figure, but it was never released.
