Michel Houellebecq is a French author born in 1956. He began his career in 1991 with "Contre Le Monde, Contre La Vie" / "H.P. Lovecraft: Against The World, Against Life" and gained fame in 1994 with his first novel "Extension Du Domaine De La lutte" / "Whatever". This was followed by "Les Particules Élémentaires" / "Atomised" in 1998. In addition to his novels, he has published two collections of poems: "La Poursuite Du Bonheur" / "The Pursuit of Happiness" in 1992 and "Le Sens du Combat" / "The Meaning of The Fight" in 1996, along with two collections of chronicles and critical texts. In spring 2000, he released his debut album "Presence Humaine," where he sings a selection of his poems. Over time, he became a controversial figure in France while remaining one of the most-read French authors outside of the country.
