Michel LeGrande was a French composer, arranger, conductor, and jazz pianist, born on February 24, 1932, in Paris. He passed away on January 26, 2019, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. LeGrande was a prolific composer of film and television scores, known for creating many memorable songs. His work on the films "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg" (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg - 1964) and "Les Demoiselles de Rochefort" (The Young Girls of Rochefort - 1967) earned him Academy Award nominations.
