Michel Sardaby was a renowned pianist born on September 4, 1935, in Fort-de-France, Martinique. He began playing the piano at the age of five in his father's brasserie, where music was a constant presence. Sardaby moved to Paris, where he studied music and obtained his diploma in 1956. He then dedicated himself to a career as a jazz pianist. Throughout the 1960s, he played piano with various blues musicians and released several jazz-focused solo albums. Sardaby was active on the European music scene, particularly in Paris. He passed away on December 6, 2023, at the age of 88.
