Papa Michigan, born Anthony Fairclough, and General Smiley, born Erroll Bennett, were pioneers of the dual-toasting style in the first wave of Dancehall music in Jamaica. They began their musical journey in the late 1970s while still attending school. The duo quickly gained popularity with their hit tracks "Rub a Dub Style" and the toasted Real Rock version titled "Nice up the Dance." It's important to note that Erroll Bennett should not be confused with the Jazz-Funk percussionist known as Erroll 'Crusher' Bennett.
