Mickie Most (born June 20, 1938, in Aldershot, Hampshire, England – died May 30, 2003, in London, England) was a prominent record producer, songwriter, arranger, and singer. In 1969, he founded a record label that achieved significant success with various artists during the 1970s and 1980s, eventually being acquired in the late 1980s. He was the father of a notable figure in the music industry. After changing his name in 1959, Mickie traveled to South Africa with his wife Christina, where he began a singing career and formed a pop group. This group included founding members who played guitar, drums, and bass guitar, among other roles, and they achieved 11 consecutive No. 1 singles in South Africa, primarily with cover versions of popular songs. After spending three years in South Africa, he returned to London in 1962.
