Myka 9, originally known as Mikah 9, is a rapper from Los Angeles, CA, USA. He is a founding member of the influential group Freestyle Fellowship and played a significant role in the early 90s scene at the Good Life Cafe. In 1994, Myka 9 was featured on the Project Blowed compilation and later collaborated with Aceyalone and Abstract Rude to form the group Haiku D'Etat. In 2003, he changed the spelling of his name to Myka Nyne with the release of his album A Work in Progress. In 2008, he was credited as Myka 9 on the album Heartifact, released as part of the group Magic Heart Genies.
