Mike Mareen, born on November 9, 1949, in Berlin and raised in Lüneburg, Germany, began his musical journey as a drummer before becoming the singer for the group Cemetery Institution. He performed at Hamburg's legendary Star Club, where The Beatles once played. After a stint as a sailor, Mike moved to New York for a few years. Upon his return to Germany, he achieved significant success with his hit "Love Spy" in 1986, followed by tracks like "Dancing In The Dark" and "Agent Of Liberty." That same year, he released his debut album, "Dance Control," and followed it up in 1987 with "Let's Start Now," which featured the hit "Don't Talk To The Snake." Both albums were released by the prominent German label zyx Records. In addition to his own music, Mike has written and produced tracks for other artists, including "Birthday Girl" by DJ's Project and "Win The Race" performed by Amadeus Liszt. In 1997, zyx Records released a new remix of his song "Dancing in the Dark" by DJ Shah & Espirito.
