Brian Grainger, known by the moniker Milieu, began his musical journey after his parents' divorce in 1997. He is a self-taught musician who learned to play guitar, drums, bass, and keyboard without formal training. In 2001, he ventured into psychedelic and ambient music, and by 2002, he focused on creating computer-produced yet organic songs. Using a four-track recorder, guitar, organ, and a drum machine, he initially released music under the name Parallax, completing six albums by May 2004. He then retired the Parallax name and continued his musical exploration as Milieu. Brian currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina, with his wife Sophia and their pets.
