Millie Scott, born Mildred Scott on March 4, 1947, in Savannah, Georgia, is a talented singer who initially began her career in gospel music before transitioning to jazz. After relocating to New York, she was drawn to Detroit by The Temptations, where she continues to reside. In 1971, she formed the group Quiet Elegance with Lois Reeves and Frankie Gearing, touring with The Temptations and signing to Hi Records in 1972, where they released several singles. In 1986, Scott joined D&B Productions in Detroit, led by Bruce Nazarian, which eventually led to her signing as a solo artist with Island Records. Her debut single, "Prisoner of Love," peaked at #52 on the UK Singles Chart that same year. One of her later tracks, "Let's Talk It Over," is a mellow dance song favored by fans who preferred a less electronic sound. Scott's discography includes songs such as "Prisoner of Love," "Automatic," and "Ev'ry Little Bit." She also made numerous appearances on the UK Channel 4 television program Solid Soul during the mid-1980s, performing alongside other R&B acts like Loose Ends and Ruby Turner.
