Milton Banana Trio was formed after Milton returned to Brazil from the United States, where he accompanied a notable artist at the famous concert at Carnegie Hall, and from Italy, where he toured to introduce bossa nova. In 1964, the trio gained significant attention during their performance at Ramon-Dini's in São Paulo. The original line-up included Milton on drums, Wanderley on piano, and a bassist whose name is not mentioned. The group was known for its extraordinary swing and was in high demand to accompany various singers, including one notable collaboration in 1965. During their time under contract with Odeon, the trio's line-up varied, featuring different bassists and pianists on various albums. In 1969, they performed for several weeks with another artist at the Sucata in Lagos, and in 1970, they collaborated with a well-known musician in a production involving Boscoli. In the 1970s, the trio became regulars at Piaf, a restaurant owned by Jorge Ótimo. Towards the end of the 1970s, the group signed with RCA, but the albums from this period did not specify the line-up. In 1978, sources indicated Claudio on double bass and another pianist, with additional musicians on guitar. Later, Tião Neto became the bassist, and Zé Luiz played piano. From 1986 to 1988, this line-up performed regularly at Le Rond Point Bar, which later became the Rio Jazz
