Min Xiao-Fen is a renowned Chinese pipa player and vocalist, celebrated for her contributions to traditional Chinese music, contemporary classical music, and jazz. She began her musical journey by learning the pipa from her father, Min Ji-Qian, a professor and master of the instrument at Nanjing University. At the age of 17, she joined the Nanjing Traditional Music Orchestra of China, where she served as a pipa soloist for over a decade. In 1992, Min Xiao-Fen relocated to the United States, where she has since performed as a featured soloist with various prestigious orchestras, including the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony, San Diego Symphony, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Stanford Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Amiens Chamber Orchestra in France, and Nieuw Ensemble in Holland.
