Mitty Collier is a soul and rhythm and blues singer born on June 21, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama. She began her musical journey singing in gospel groups, including the Hayes Ensemble. In 1959, after entering a talent show in Chicago, she was offered a record contract. During her time at the label, her main producer was influential in her career. Collier achieved her biggest success with the single "I'm Your Part Time Love," which became a Top 20 hit in 1963. In 1968, she left the label to pursue opportunities with another producer. However, in 1971, she developed polyps on her vocal cords, which led to the loss of her singing voice and the end of her secular music career. Subsequently, she transitioned to a gospel career, recording religious music albums and engaging in activities aligned with her strong Christian beliefs.
