Michalis Koumbios (Greek: Μιχάλης Κουμπιός; born 1965) is a Greek composer and lyricist, born on the island of Rhodes and raised on the nearby island of Tilos. He has studied Byzantine, classical, and modern European music, as well as traditional music from various cultures. Additionally, he has attended seminars on modern music technology both in Greece and abroad. Koumbios has released 15 recordings, and his compositions are featured in international collections such as Mystic World, Famous Greek Composer, Night Collection, Buddha Bar, Mother Earth, and Putumayo Presents: Greece, a musical odyssey. He has produced world projects including Zambetas Concept, Gypsies Bar, Balkan Voices I, and Balkan Voices II. As a composer in the ancient Greek sense, Koumbios sometimes writes lyrics and produces, showcasing his expertise in sound and recording. In 1990, he hosted a TV show on the Greek national channel "E.T." where he presented Greek rock bands. He has collaborated with distinguished Greek musicians, singers, and lyricists, as well as recognized names in world music. His music has been featured in television programs, series, and documentaries in Greece and abroad. He has also served as the editor of the music magazine Difono.
