Mmm (pronounced "me-my-mo") is the solo project of Tokyo-based musician Moe Ishii, active in Japan's indie scene since 2006. Raised between Japan and Singapore, she studied flute at an art school in California before returning to Japan to write and perform her own music. Her bilingual lyricism and minimalist arrangements, often incorporating flute and home-recorded elements, have led to collaborations with artists like Emerson Kitamura and Yuko Ikema. Ishii has performed internationally in Korea and the U.S., and her discography includes releases such as *Safe Mode* (2014) and the 2025 EP *taro*.
