Modo Solar is a Brazilian duo formed in 2005, consisting of composers, producers, and musicians DiMonaco and Barbera. They create an electric blend of Brazilian rhythms, soul, and funk. Rolling Stone magazine describes their sound as reminiscent of a larger ensemble, featuring a variety of instruments including guitars, percussion, mandolin, piano, flute, sitar, and synthesizers. Their debut release on Favorite Recordings is the six-track EP titled "Natural," which includes two remixes by French producer Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart. Modo Solar draws inspiration from 70's Brazilian jazz funk artists like Marcos Valle, Joao Donato, and Azymuth, as well as 70's American soul music.
