Monday Michiru is an artist, singer/songwriter, and occasional actress born on August 19, 1963, in Tokyo, Japan. A Japanese-American, she is known for her diverse music that fuses genres such as jazz, dance, pop, and soul. Michiru is recognized as a pioneer of the Acid Jazz movement in Japan during the early 1990s and has released over 12 albums. She currently resides in New York City with her husband and their son, Nikita. She is the daughter of jazz artists and is married to a jazz trumpeter.
