Mondo Generator is a band formed in 1997 by Nick Oliveri, the bassist and singer of Queens of the Stone Age. Initially intended as a solo side project, they recorded the classic album "Cocaine Rodeo" that same year, but it was shelved until it was released by Southern Lord. The follow-up album, "A Drug Problem That Never Existed," was released in the summer of 2003 through a collaboration between Ipecac and Rekords Rekords, followed by a worldwide tour that was documented in the DVD "Use Once and Destroy Me." In 2004, the band recorded and released "III The EP." Shortly after, Oliveri began a solo acoustic career. They released "Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails" in 2006 on the English label Mother Tongue, which was later distributed worldwide by Suburban Noize Records in 2007. In late 2010, Mondo Generator was put on hold as Oliveri rejoined Kyuss Lives!. However, in summer 2012, they released a new album titled "Hell Comes To Your Heart," which was distributed by Mondo Media/Cobraside. In 2020, Mondo Generator released two new albums through the Italian label Heavy Psych Sounds: "Fuck It" and "Shooters Bible," the latter of which was recorded in 2010 but remained unreleased until then.
