Mongo Santamaría was a renowned Cuban rumba quinto master and an Afro-Cuban Latin jazz percussionist. Born on April 7, 1917, in Havana, Cuba, he made significant contributions to music throughout his life. He passed away on February 1, 2003, in Miami, Florida, USA.
