Monk Higgins was an American musician, arranger, producer, and songwriter, born on October 3, 1930, in Menifee, Arkansas. He primarily played the saxophone and organ and was a co-owner of a record label. Throughout his career, he recorded with Chess and United Artists. Higgins achieved notable chart success, hitting #117 on the Billboard Singles Charts in 1967 with "Who-Dun-It?" and #105 in 1972 with "Gotta Be Funky." He passed away on July 3, 1986, in Los Angeles, California.
