Monoshock is an American psychedelic, punk, and noise rock band formed in Isla Vista, California, in 1988. The original lineup consisted of Grady Runyan (guitar), Scott Derr (bass), and Rubin Fiberglass (vocals, drums, lyrics). After recording their only demo tape, the band disbanded as some members left for college. In 1993, the trio reunited in Oakland and reformed the band. Monoshock released three 7" singles and the double-LP "Walk To The Fire," which featured a new member on saxophone and was released by Derr's label. They also appeared on several compilation albums before disbanding in 1995. In the late 2000s, Monoshock's members, along with Doug Pearson, began collaborating again and released an album in 2010. The band also performed a few shows during this period.
