Mood Six is a neo-psychedelic band that was formed in London's West End in 1981, emerging from the remnants of mod revival groups such as the Merton Parkas and the VIP's. The original lineup consisted of Phil Ward, Tony Conway, Andy Godfrey, Guy Morley, Paul Shurey, and Simon Smith. They debuted with two tracks on the A Splash of Colour compilation, quickly positioning themselves at the forefront of the brief British psychedelia revival. After signing with EMI, they released their first official single, "Hanging Around," but were dropped from the label before the follow-up, "She's Too Far," could be released. In 1985, Mood Six re-emerged on the Psycho label with the album The Difference Is..., and a year later, they moved to Cherry Red to release A Matter Of!. Following a long period of inactivity, the band returned in 1993 with a new lineup and released And This Is It on their own Lost Recording Company label. The band reformed to perform a few low-key gigs in Autumn 2016.
