More Ephemerol is a Los Angeles-based synth band initially formed as a solo project by Chad Fjerstad, focusing on experimental synthesizer compositions. The band's sound is heavily influenced by early 80's synth-pop, drawing inspiration from minimal wave acts like Turquoise Days, Oppenheimer Analysis, and Experimental Products, as well as new wave pioneers such as OMD, Human League, and Fad Gadget, while also incorporating elements of body music and synth punk. Their debut LP, "Fractal Bath," primarily features instrumental tracks created with digital instruments. In contrast, their follow-up album, "Apotheosis Pageant," showcases a more defined direction, utilizing strictly analogue machines and incorporating pop-oriented vocals shared between Fjerstad and vocalist Tamara Sky. The production quality of the album sees a significant improvement, thanks to the expertise of studio guru Matia Simovich, who mixed and produced the record.
