Moses Taiwa Molelekwa was a South African award-winning composer, producer, guitarist, and keyboard player, born on April 17, 1973, in Tembisa, near Johannesburg. He studied piano at the Federated Union of Black Arts Academy, graduating in 1987 with a diploma and the best student award. Moses played alongside notable artists such as Miriam Makeba, Jonas Gwangwa, and Hugh Masekela, and toured the USA with Dorothy Masuka and Julian Bahula. He founded two bands, Brotherhood and Umbongo, and released his first solo album, "Finding Oneself," in 1995. He later ventured into production work for emerging kwaito artists. Tragically, on February 13, 2001, Moses was found hanging from a beam in his Johannesburg office, next to the body of his wife, Florence, who had reportedly been strangled.
