Motohiko Hino was a renowned Japanese jazz drummer, born on January 3, 1946, in Tokyo. He passed away on May 13, 1999. Hino was the younger brother of a trumpeter and earned recognition as Japan's best jazz drummer for 15 consecutive years, as voted by the readers of Swing Journal magazine.
