Mr. De', also known as Ade Mainor, is a prominent figure in Detroit's dance music scene, with over ten years of experience as a producer and nearly twenty years of creating electronic music. His unique sound blends various funk-based urban styles, prioritizing upbeat, danceable rhythms over more contemplative techno. Following the release of his debut album and the ongoing success of Electrofunk Records, he has established himself at the forefront of the genre. Growing up in the post-industrial landscape of Detroit, Mr. De' was inspired by music from an early age, learning piano from his mother, a gospel singer and piano teacher. As a teenager, he began experimenting with drum machines and turntables, producing early hip-hop tracks. Today, he is recognized as the originator of pure ghettotech and leads the distribution arm of Electrofunk, guiding his fellow artists in spreading their sound beyond Detroit. Since 2005, Ade Mainor has taken on the role of President, solidifying his influence and importance in the evolution of urban music.
