Mr. De', whose real name is Ade Mainor, is a prominent figure in the Detroit dance music scene, boasting over ten years of experience as a producer and nearly twenty years of creating electronic music. His sound is a fusion of various funk-based urban genres, focusing on high-energy, danceable tracks rather than the more contemplative styles of techno. Following the release of his debut album and the ongoing success of Electrofunk Records, he has established himself at the forefront of the genre. Growing up in Detroit, Mainor was influenced by his mother, a gospel singer and piano teacher, who taught him to play the piano. As a teenager, he began experimenting with drum machines and turntables, producing early hip-hop tracks. Today, he is recognized as the originator of pure ghettotech and leads the distribution arm of Electrofunk, guiding his fellow artists in spreading their unique sound beyond Detroit. Although the global reception of this post-modern urban music remains uncertain, Mr. De' is undoubtedly a key figure in this movement. Since 2005, Ade Mainor has held the position of President of Electrofunk Records.
