**Bio: Simon Monday (Mr. Monday)** Simon Monday, known as Mr. Monday, has been a pivotal figure in the evolution of acid house music. He began his journey in 1981 when he purchased his first synthesizer, dedicating years to mastering the craft of electronic music and emulating his inspirations, including DAF, PIL, and Giorgio Moroder. In 1984, he relocated to London to immerse himself further in the electronic scene, crossing paths with notable figures such as Mix Master Morris and Tony Thorpe. In 1986, Monday acquired his first sampler and collaborated with Thorpe on early house compilations. His debut production, “Keep On,” was released on Greedy Beat Records under the name Mister Monday. The track caught the attention of a young Judge Jules in 1989, who sought to rework it, resulting in the well-received “Appreciate,” featuring vocals from Debbigne Curry, a former flatmate and singer of Colourbox. Following this success, Monday received invitations to perform live at venues like Solaris and participated in the inaugural Live at the Brain Performance, partnering with Sean McKlusky (Sonic Mook). This collaboration led to co-producing Sean’s band IF, with the track “Saturday’s Angels” gaining popularity and securing the band a major deal with MCA, as well as a connection to Glasgow’s iconic Sub Club, operated by Slam Boys Orde and Stewart.
