**Real Name:** Мухомор **Bio:** Toadstools (Мухоморы) was a Moscow art group formed on March 24, 1978, by friends and classmates Sven Gundlach, brothers Vladimir and Sergey Mironenko, Aleksey Kamensky, and Konstantin Zvezdochetov. They gained recognition for their sole album, "Golden Disc," which was self-released between 1981 and 1982 and became influential in the realms of experimental and conceptual music among Soviet rockers and modern artists. The album was initially distributed as a DIY reel-to-reel tape and later officially released on compact cassette in 1997 by Otdelenie VYHOD label, and re-released on CD+DVD in 2014. Toadstools were known for their collaborative art projects, including the painting "Indian Hunting Down Eagle," and for organizing avant-garde exhibitions and performances, as well as publishing humorous manifestos. Their performances featured provocative poetry recited over a sound collage, created with primitive studio technology. The soundtrack included a mix of various musical fragments, from classical to jazz. Despite gaining a following, the group's music attracted government scrutiny, leading to their official ban and KGB interrogations in 1984. Following this, members were sent out of Moscow for compulsory military service, marking the end of Toadstools.
