Mukta is a world-jazz music group influenced by Indian and African music, founded in 1994 by bassist and composer Simon Mary. The band has performed globally in countries such as India, South Africa, Morocco, Burundi, England, Greece, and Canada, and has participated in numerous festivals, including Jazz Yatra in Bombay, Eurockéennes, Transmusicales, Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Festival in South Africa, and Festival d'Été de Québec.
