Museum of Devotion is an American Electro-industrial band formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1986. The band features James Cooper on vocals, guitar, and keyboards, alongside Robert Anderson on lead guitar, bass guitar, and keyboards. Their debut album, "...to the Pink Period," was released in 1988 to critical acclaim, establishing the band within the Coldwave genre alongside other notable acts. In 1989, they followed up with the "Racist" EP, which showcased a more electronic sound, including an aggressive cover of "Groove Line" by a funk group. The band's 1990 release, "Wants Verses Needs," featured the Belgium top ten dance track "Sunshine" and included a dark rendition of "Take Me I'm Yours" as a tribute to a prominent UK powerhouse. After a career hiatus, Museum of Devotion re-emerged in 2012 with new material while maintaining their Coldwave attitude. Their relevance in the gothic rock and Darkwave scenes persists, with tracks like "Canary in a Cathouse" and "Devotion" still being played regularly by DJs across Europe and the U.S. In January 2014, the band released a music video for their 1990 single, “Slomo,” on YouTube, utilizing footage that had been shelved due to their record label's closure.
