Muzio Clementi (23 January 1752 – 10 March 1832) was an Italian classical musician, composer, pianist, piano teacher, orchestral conductor, music publisher, editor, and piano manufacturer. Born in Rome, he is celebrated for being the first to write specifically for the piano. Clementi is best known for his piano sonatas, sonatinas, and his collection of piano studies, Gradus ad Parnassum. He earned titles such as "The Father of the Pianoforte," "Father of the Modern Piano Technique," and "Father of Romantic pianistic virtuosity." He passed away in Evesham, Worcestershire, England.
