Naked Raygun is a renowned punk rock band hailing from Chicago, IL, founded in 1980. Initially, the band showcased an arty punk style, but over time, as members changed, they evolved into a more streamlined power pop/punk act. The founding members included a guitarist and a bassist, both of whom left early on. Marko Pezzati's younger brother, Jeff Pezzati, was recruited as the lead vocalist and has remained with the band throughout its entire history. The band's recorded debut occurred in 1981 with the "Busted At Oz" compilation. Their second LP, "All Rise," released in 1985, featured what many consider the "classic" lineup of Jeff Pezzati (vocals), John Haggerty (guitar), Camilo Gonzalez (bass), and Jim Calao (drums). Naked Raygun quickly gained popularity in Chicago and developed a dedicated following across the country. In 1989, John Haggerty left the band due to frustration over their inconsistent touring, which many believed was a significant blow to the band's chemistry. He was replaced by a new guitarist for the 1990 album "Raygun...Naked Raygun." The band continued to perform until 1992, when they effectively disbanded without a formal announcement. They played sporadic reunion shows in Chicago over the years, with Bill Stephens taking Haggerty's place. In 2006, Naked Raygun announced their reformation
