Nami Shimada is a Japanese singer who debuted in 1986 after winning the Momoco talent contest. She gained popularity with her hit "Uchiki na Cupid," which broke into the top ten, leading to a sizable following. Throughout her career, she began writing lyrics for her own albums, including her last single, "Motto... Zutto... I Love You." Her final song was featured on the soundtrack for "City Hunter '91." After retiring from her idol career in 1990, Nami has transitioned to working as a DJ and writer.
