Ñanda Mañachi is a traditional folk ensemble from Ecuador, founded in 1976. The group represents a significant milestone as it was the first time indigenous Ecuadorian music was recorded in the studio, featuring Indigenous musicians from various communities in the province of Imbabura. The ensemble included musicians from the village of Zuleta, Quinchuquí, Natabuela, Ibarra, La Rinconada, and Manzana Huarangui, who comprised the backbone of the original Ñanda Mañachi ensemble, although members rotated in and out throughout their discography. The group was directed and recorded by notable figures in the music scene.
