Narada Michael Walden is a prolific American record producer, arranger, drummer, multi-instrumentalist musician, and former singer-songwriter, born on April 23, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. He currently resides in San Rafael, California. Walden was given the name Narada by a guru in the early 1970s. His musical career spans three decades, during which he has received several gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards. He began his career by replacing a member in a band and continued as a drummer in another group. In addition to his solo career, which started around 1976, Walden has written, produced, and arranged hits for a wide array of artists while initially being under contract with Arista Records and Clive Davis. He owns a recording studio and a publishing entity for his works. He is also the brother-in-law to one individual, the ex-husband to another, and the husband of a third person.
