Natural Gas was a hard rock band formed in 1975 in London, England. The supergroup consisted of Joey Molland from Badfinger, Jerry Shirley from Humble Pie, Mark Clarke from Uriah Heep and Colosseum, and Peter Wood from Aardvark. They recorded their self-titled album at Crystal Studios in Los Angeles, produced by Felix Papalardi of Mountain. Although the album received critical praise, it became the band's only release before they split up in 1977. Following the breakup, Molland returned to Badfinger, Shirley worked with Fastway and later returned to Humble Pie, Clarke collaborated with Rainbow, Billy Squier, and Leslie West, while Wood, who passed away in 1993, went on to work with Roger Waters and Bob Dylan. The Natural Gas album eventually faded into obscurity, becoming a sought-after collector's item.
