Nautilus Pompilius
Nautilus Pompilius, often abbreviated as Nau (Russian: Нау), was a prominent Russian rock band formed in Sverdlovsk (now Ekaterinburg) in 1981. Initially named "Али-Баба И Сорок Разбойников," the band changed its name to "Наутилус" in 1983, and later to "Nautilus Pompilius" in 1985 to avoid confusion with a Moscow band of the same name. They were influential in the post-punk and New Wave scenes of Russian rock music, with many of their early hits associated with the Perestroika period. Their songs were featured in the movie "Брат" by Aleksei Balabanov. After disbanding in 1997, lead singer and frontman Vyacheslav Butusov embarked on a successful solo career. The majority of the lyrics for the group were written by an unspecified individual.
