Ndongo Lo, born N'dongo Lo, faced challenges in entering the music scene. His breakthrough came during a concert by Papa Ndiaye Guéwel, where he took to the stage and sang, leading to an invitation to contribute a song to Guéwel's next album. Despite his father's disapproval of his musical ambitions, Ndongo pursued his passion. In 2000, he released his first album, "Ndoortel," which was initially available only as a cassette in Senegal. The album's immediate success allowed him to tour in Gambia and perform concerts in Europe and the United States, including shows in Cincinnati, Ohio, during the early to mid-2000s. His second album, "Tarkhiss," was released on CD in 2003, further increasing his recognition in Europe and the U.S. In December 2004, he released his third album, "Aduna" (Life), while battling illness. This album reflected his gratitude towards friends and religious leaders, earning him the nickname Mou Serigne Fallou Niang, in honor of Mouride leader Serigne Fallou Mbacké. He recorded this album with his band, Le groupe Jamm, which continues to perform and plans to release unreleased songs written by him. Tragically, Ndongo Lo's last performance took place on January 14, 2005, in a nightclub in Dakar, where he fell ill on stage. He was hospitalized and passed away shortly after
