Negativland is an experimental music and art collective formed in 1980, consisting of members David Wills, Mark Hosler, Jon Leidecker, and others. They have been creating music, audio, and collage works for over four decades and produced a weekly three-hour radio show titled "Over The Edge" since 1981. The collective has maintained a World Wide Web presence since 1995 and occasionally tours across America and Europe. The extended Negativland family includes live cinema artist SUE-C (Sue Slagle), filmmakers Ryan Worsley and Tim Maloney, digital artist Dan Lynch, designer Shawn Wolfe, Seeland Records HQ traffic controller Jennifer Bennett, and angel archivist Taylor Jessen. Negativland's unique musical practice involves incorporating found sounds and musical samples into their collage compositions, reflecting their contemporary interest in collage as a response to the merging of art and commerce in modern culture.
