Neil Ardley was an English jazz pianist and composer, born on 26 May 1937 in Wallington, Surrey, England. He passed away on 23 February 2004 in London, England, at the age of 66. In addition to his influential work in jazz music, Ardley was also a prolific author, having written over 100 popular books on science, technology, and music. By the time he retired in 2000, he had authored 101 books, which collectively sold about 10 million copies.
